Most everyone's found a tool that was fed into a grinder so that a difficult job could be completed.

 


Here's a 1222 Wrench.  The open end was cut to four contact points and ground to a taper. 
"Bertrand" engraved his name over the alteration.
 
 
 
Someone made a fancy tack hammer out of a body hammer.  Its a 1427 5D.
 
 
 
Here's a 5430 socket, drilled and tapped for a set screw so it can hold dies. 
A die is rusted to the socket.
 
 
 
Rumor has it this was one of Ed's favorite rogues.
 

 

 

 

"Nosey Neighbor Bill" from Albuquerque, who's worked on everything with pistons, says the thinga-ma-bob on the end of Ed's ratchet was used to knock the rust off of bolts before you wrenched them out.  Says he's seen other ratchets like Ed's.
